Graham Cracker Houses

It’s that time of year again!
When I was growing up, we made these things with my mom and sold them every. single. year.
I swore that I would never do it again, yet here I am! Haha
I decided that it’s a great way to make a little extra money during the holiday’s, and quite frankly, I do kinda enjoy it… (shhhh!)
This year I decided to try something new (you know, since now we have all this awesome technology!) and listed them in my Etsy shop!
Adorable, aren’t they!?
They make great Christmas gifts for teachers, family, friends, your mailman, nurses and doctors in your doctors office, coworkers, neighbors, the list goes on!
If you’re interested, you’ll find me on Etsy RIGHT HEREย ๐Ÿ™‚

Brunnemann’s Halloween 2013 & DIY Costumes

Cambria right away knew what she wanted to be for Halloween… Really, anyone could have guessed that she wanted to be a unicorn, she’s OBSESSED!
I searched and searched on Pinterest for DIY ideas, and finally decided on THISย mixed with THIS.
Mind you, the horn and ears were absolutely not as easy as she made them seem!

I knew that I wanted Gwen to be Eloise, because she IS Eloise! Haha
She agreed to it quite quickly ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s how their costumes turned out!

After I got them dressed and took pictures, I had to leave to make a 12 hour drive to get my nephew who is staying with us for a little while, so Cory painted pumpkins with the girls…
(Cory painted half of his for me ๐Ÿ™‚ )
Aaaaand of course, before they left for Fall Fest at a church down the street, Gwen and Cambria managed to break Cambria’s horn and ears! :\
Pouty face because she’s upset about it ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
Luckily, she cheered up a little
Thanks for looking!

Girls’/Guest Bathroom Reveal!

So excited to be sharing this!
It came out better than I even imagined! ๐Ÿ™‚
I don’t have very many pictures, but this is what the bathroom looked like before.
We peeled of two layers of wallpaper and painted the walls a VERY light gray, pulled up two layers of linoleum and put down tile, changed the countertop to granite,
replaced the toilet and modified the cabinet!
My dad and mom did MOST of the work, but the vision is all mine ๐Ÿ™‚
What it looks like now!!
This beautiful shower curtain came from World Market.
I was so excited when I found these at Kirklands!
The color is perfect and this IS a kids bathroom ๐Ÿ™‚
New toilet!
And being the cat lovers that we are, I had to have the kitty toilet brush holder that I
found at Bed, Bath and Beyond ๐Ÿ˜‰
This frame came from Ikea, and the image I bought from HEREย to give the feeling
of this being a little girls bathroom ๐Ÿ™‚

The granite counter! ๐Ÿ˜€
I found this mirror at Garden Ridge, the faucet came from eBay, the pictures on the wall came from a thrift store, the towel hooks and toilet paper holder from Bed, Bath and Beyond and the towels came from Target.

The rug down there also came from Target.
Beautiful, isn’t it! I love it so much!
Thanks for looking!

Gwennie’s 7th Birthday – A Tea Party!

I was so excited when Gwen told me she wanted to have a tea party for her birthday!
I let her invite 4 little girls, so there would be 6 total… I prefer our birthday parties this way ๐Ÿ˜‰
Here’s the girls all ready for the party!
Gwen’s shirt came fromย Jilly’s Mom Made Thatย on Etsy, and I found the skirt at Goodwill ๐Ÿ™‚
Gwen waiting at the window for the girls to arrive ๐Ÿ™‚
Gwennie getting her birthday spankins from her Aunt Mattie!
After all the girls arrived, Aunt Mattie helped them decorate floppy hats with flowers
Then they sat down for tea!
I made this bird banner to hang over where Gwen is sitting.
The tutorial for it isย HERE. I also made a wreath from the tutorialย HERE,
but I didn’t get a picture of it and I already took all the cups off so
I can use the wreath for something else :\
Here’s the table setting. The tea cups and pots and stuff all came from thrift stores,
and some of the stuff came from IKEA which you can seeย HERE.
I got the roses from HEB the day before ๐Ÿ™‚
A lady that works with my mom also makes cakes on the side, so she made Gwen’s birthday ๐Ÿ™‚
I made the 3 tiered stand from the two tray I got from IKEA, the top plate and the bottom pillar I got at Goodwill, and the top pillar was just here with some stuff my mom had and I painted it.
I glued them all together with E6000 glue.
I served the girls peach and blackberry tea, and I made heart shaped chicken salad sandwiches,
fruit cups, andย THESEย Pretzel Crisp treats that I found on Pinterest. They were so yummy!
After tea, Gwen opened her presents and then we had cake!
After cake, we made their party favors by planting
flowers into teacups that I glued to their saucers!
Aaaaaand then I took a nap! Ha! JK, I had lots of cleaning up to do ๐Ÿ˜‰
The girls said this was the best birthday party yet…
mission accomplished! ๐Ÿ˜€

Bathroom Update #2

I’m a little late on this so the reveal is coming really soon,ย
but I just wanted to give a little sneak peek before I share the whole thing ๐Ÿ˜‰
Here’s the tiled floor all finished.ย Came out awesome!
We bought the square tiles from Habitat for Humanity for $20!
Cory’s dad gave us the glass ones ๐Ÿ™‚
I painted the cabinet blue, and my dad got the plywood in.
Ready for the countertop!
The new granite countertop and faucet is in!
Gravy is testing out his new bed ๐Ÿ˜‰
( Kitty had an eye infection ๐Ÿ˜ฆ )
Aaaand a little sneak at a few other things that will be going into the bathroom ๐Ÿ™‚
Can’t wait to share the reveal!

Painting Pumpkins – DIY Mantel Decor

I came across this idea on Pinterest that linked to another blog, but I forgot to pin it.
Soooo I have no idea where it came from or else I’d link to it!
Anyway, I really, REALLY suck at painting details,
so I can’t even believe how good these came out!
I bought these little plastic pumpkins at Walmart for $1 a piece,
then went to Michael’s and bought the brushes, white paint and paint markers.
Note that this paint did NOT work. It was kind of a transparent white, and after coating a couple with it, I pulled out some other white acrylic paint I already had… THEN, after coating them once with that, I decided to reread the tutorial and realized she spray painted hers…. I fail.
Luckily, I had some white spray paint on hand ๐Ÿ˜‰
This is what they looked like after the second coat of acrylic paint.
I used a pencil do draw out some of the designs before I painted them, and used a mixture of the paint pens and some acrylic black paint depending on what worked best for the detail I was working on ๐Ÿ™‚
Love, love, LOVE them!
I wanted these to look a certain way for the mantel in my living room,
but this would even be so much fun to do with the kids!

There’s been so much going on around my house, I keep putting off making an update over here.
We’re still working on the bathroom, the stove broke so there’s gonna be another project there, Gwen’s birthday was yesterday ๐Ÿ™‚ (We took her to dinner on Sunday, and then to the movies after school yesterday, following dinner and cheesecake!).
I’ve been trying to get things a little more organized, and I started Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred!
I said I would post about what we ended up with from IKEA (though we made the trip JUST to get the workstation!), so here it is ๐Ÿ™‚
I bought two of these SPONTAN magnet boards, in white, to go in the playroom.
In the left of this picture is the DIGNITET curtain wire and clips to hang artwork in the playroom, next is the magnets that go with ^those magnet boards, and then the handles are for the bathroom.
We bought the EXPEDIT Workstation (been wanting one of these for awhile!), also for the playroom ๐Ÿ™‚
I bought this ALEX unit to go next to my vanity in my bedroom to store all my makeup ๐Ÿ™‚
And then Cory bought a few of the RIBBA picture frames for a project he is working on, and we got this lovely for the playroom
And then I was so excited when I found things for Gwen’s birthday party that we will be having in a couple weeks, it’s gonna be a tea party! โค
These two strays are gonna be glue in tiers on stands for food.
And these are napkins, placemats and a napkin holder
(which will now permanently be in my dining room cause I love it!)
Now ONLY a few paychecks later (just kidding!)…
I’d say it was all worth it, though I can’t say that Cory feels the same way ;p

Bathroom Update #1

I got inspired by this bathroom I saw atย IHeartOrganizing

I fell in love with the dark blue in this room and the shower curtain she has,
so I went out and got it myself!
The changes we’re making to our bathroom are:
The vanity to a granite top and inset sink.
Floors from two layers of linoleum to tiles.
Walls from two layers of wallpaper to paint.
Replacing medicine cabinet with a pretty mirror.
ย Changing light fixtures.
Putting in a new toilet.
Painting the cabinet and all the trim/doors.
Lots of reorganizing!
Here’s what we have done so far!

Stripped all the wallpaper

Took the medicine cabinet out and the top “drawers” on the cabinet.
My dad is going to cut that opening higher and put larger doors on it ๐Ÿ™‚
And me dad started laying the tiles last night!
Pretty isn’t it!?
I can’t wait for the tile to get finished tonight when he gets home from work!

Our Corpus Christi Mini Vacation (WARNING: Picture Overload!)

This summer we took the girls on a surprise trip to the beach!
We made a plan to go to the beach on Wed, go check into the hotel and shower and then go to dinner. Then for Thursday, go to the Texas State Aquarium, eat at the two story Whataburger and then go home… Surprisingly, things pretty much went as planned, with a few little extras ๐Ÿ˜‰
I booked our hotel at North Beach (which I wouldn’t recommend at all, thank God it was only for one night) with intentions of swimming there, but when we got into town we quickly decided to keep going.ย I had no idea that it was so small and wanted the girls to have the full beach experience, afterall, we’ve never done this before!
SO, we crossed the waters on the fairie to Port A!
We arrived at the beach kinda late afternoon, so we were only there for a few hours, but it was so beautiful and peaceful, and the girls had a wonderful time.
Heading out! They had no idea where we were going ๐Ÿ™‚
Posing on the beach!
The little sand castle we made… It didn’t hold their attention for too long haha
We decided to walk up and down the beach to look for things to take home.
Our beach toes! I took them the day before to get our toes and and hands painted ๐Ÿ™‚
Then we found a shark on the shore! ;p
And jellyfish!
This is actually the second one we found, the first one was in Gwen’s pail (picture of that below)
Skimming the sand for sand dollars
Gwen with her jellyfish!
All the things they collected off the shore
On the fairie, heading to the hotel to shower before dinner
Gwen always falls asleep in the car ๐Ÿ™‚
After checking in and taking showers to get all the sand off, we went to dinner at Blackbeards
He had no idea that Cambria made this same face haha
After dinner we decided to go for a walk along the water, and ran into this ice cream shop ๐Ÿ™‚
Then the girls were really dirty, so we had them take showers again lol
Then it was for some rest before the next big day ๐Ÿ™‚
After we checked out of our hotel, they just HAD to pose in this shark (I MIGHT be a little bit obsessed with them) before our next surprise destination
The Texas State Aquarium!
First thing we did was watch the dolphin show
Otters and then indoor aquariums
Then they got to feed the stingrays!
It took Cambria feeding four of them before Gwen finally decided to do the last two
(This is the only picture I have of this because I was filming it :\)
The stingrays were the biggest hit, so that’s what they picked from the gift shop ๐Ÿ˜€
And it’s time to leave!
After the aquarium, we went and had a late lunch/dinner at Landry’s. So good!
No pictures of that, but while we were walking down the dock to go there, we noticed a sign for boat rides! I’ve only been on a boat once, and the girls never, so we went for it!
Gwen takes pictures for us ๐Ÿ˜‰
I love these little boogers so much
After the boat ride we went to the two story Whataburger to get milkshakes, and then went home!
We went shopping the day before our trip at Old Navy for their vacation outfits ๐Ÿ™‚
And their swimsuits are both from Target, but they only have Gwen’s on their website.
